TAJIT SHORT PROGRAMS In the Loop: JBCC Updates

The TAJIT Short Program everyone has been waiting for: Ron Morgan, Director of the JBCC will present to TAJIT Members in November!

His presentation will cover an update on recent rules changes affecting Court Interpreters.  He will also provide an overview of the complaint process and he will review trends in complaints that are being filed with the Commission. 

The session will close with time for Q&A.

ABOUT RONALD S. MORGAN, JR., Director, Judicial Branch Certification Commission

Ron Morgan is Director of the Enterprise Planning and Regulatory Services Division at theTexas Office of Court Administration. In this role, he serves as Director of the JudicialBranch Certification Commission, the body responsible for regulation of over 7,000 professionals and entities that serve the court system. The JBCC licenses and certifiesCourt Reporters, Court Reporting Firms, Interpreters, Process Servers, Guardians and Guardianship Programs, and investigates and hears complaints regarding the personsengaged in these professions. Ron provides strategic-level leadership and support to a body that impacts the administration of justice statewide.

Prior to joining OCA in 2025, Ron served as Director of District Court Administration inWilliamson County, Texas, managing the day-to-day administration and operations of theDistrict Courts. In addition to this, in his 22 years of public service, he has held executiveleadership roles in the County Clerk's Office and management positions at PretrialServices, both in Travis County.

Ron holds an undergraduate degree from the University of New Orleans (his hometown –Geaux Saints!), and a Master of Science in Criminal Justice from Texas State University. Heand his wife are the parents of a softball-playing 14-year-old high school freshman, spending time away from work driving to practices and games. In what free time remains, Ron enjoys cooking, reading, and watching funny television.
